Cache School Meals – Charge Policy

Cache Public Schools does not allow students to “charge” lunch; however, we recognize that there are times when communication between school and home is delayed, and we want students to have every opportunity to get a nutritious school meal. Therefore, if there is a delay in communication, we will allow students to eat and have a negative balance for a short time. Each week, Cache Schools sends out messages and calls notifying parents of negative lunch balances. Additionally, every child and parent can view their balance for school meals in the SylogistEd (formerly Wengage) grade book program. Schools additionally send mailed letters home with lunch balances. When students reach a balance of more than $50 negative, students will be offered an alternative meal. Cache Schools encourages families to fill out applications for free/reduced meals. These are linked above. Additionally, students on free or reduced meals are never denied a meal, and we regularly work out payment plans with families to avoid giving alternative meals. Please contact your child’s school principal if you need to make payment arrangements. Payments are accepted in every school office by cash or check, and online payments can be made using a credit card in the SylogistEd grade book program.
