Good Afternoon
I apologize for the late notice but I wanted to give the sun more time to burn off some ice and slush from our roads. I drove some routes in a bus and still have some concerns of safety. We run 20 route buses and our district is 300 square miles so we travel several of our backroads. Some concerns I have is of course the ice refreezing but also line of sight. In my opinion it was difficult yielding to the right on the dirt roads and knowing where the road ended and the ditch began. Our buses are 31,000 pounds and it doesn’t take much for one to slide off into a ditch in these conditions. So we will continue to stay virtual tomorrow and hope that Mother Nature helps out and thaws this ice out so we can have safe page on our routes not only for the buses but for everyone else. Stay safe!
